The Black Stars have suffered another defeat to Germany after a 2-1 loss in a very entertaining international friendly game at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart.
The hosts took the lead on the stroke of half-time through Kai Havertz, who converted from the penalty spot in the 45th minute to give Germany a 1-0 advantage going into the break.
Ghana responded well in the second half and found the equalizer in the 69th minute after a well-worked team move, finished from close range following a neat assist from Derrick Kohn.
Just when it looked like the game was heading for a draw, Stuttgart forward Deniz Undav struck in the 88th minute with a close-range finish to hand Germany the precious win.
Despite the defeat, Ghana produced a much-improved performance compared to their previous game against Austria, showing better organization and attacking intent this time around.
Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare impressed on the night with four key saves, strengthening his case as the team’s first-choice shot-stopper heading to the Mundial.
The Black Stars will now turn attention to their upcoming friendlies against Mexico in April and Wales in June as they continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
