Ghana FA Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum has confirmed Black Stars coach Otto Addo hasn't been paid for four months now but are working tirelessly with the Sports Ministry to ensure they have that sorted very soon.

The 49-year-old returned to take over the four-time African champions early last year to replace Chris Hughton - who had been jettisoned then after a disappointing group stage exit at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Otto, led the Black Stars into ten matches in 2024 of which he recorded only two wins, four draws and four loses - a very appalling performance which has already called for his sacking as well by lots of Ghanaian football fans.

However, Ghana FA Spokesperson Henry Asante Twum has admitted the reports going round in the indigenous media are true as they haven't paid the German-born tactician for the past four months but have been assured by government that the issue will be tackled very soon. He confirmed on Accra-based Asempa FM in an interview;

"It is true that we owe Otto Addo. The last time I checked with the Sports Ministry, there were salaries in arrears which is not new," he said.

"We owe Otto Addo four months' salary arrears. We have had a series of meetings with the Sports Ministry about the outstanding payment and Otto Addo himself is aware of how difficult it is to get the monies from government but we are still working on it," Asante Twum added.

Again, the Black Stars embarrassingly failed to qualify for the next AFCON after winless qualifying campaign and are looking to make amends two months from now in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
