Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Mr. Wilson Arthur has confirmed the newly-built University of Ghana Stadium will host the final of the 2023/24 league cup with the competition already in the semi final stage.

The Legon Stadium is a 10,000 seater, which was completed recently and was part of the facilities that hosted the 13th edition of the African Games which ended two months ago.

Although it was established by the government of Ghana, speculations has it that, the beautiful edifice has been handed to the authorities at the University of Ghana and won't be under the supervision of the National Sports Authority.

In a recent interview on Akoma FM in Kumasi, Wilson Arthur, who also doubles as bank-roller of division one side Skyy FC, has confirmed they have chosen the Legon Stadium to host the FA Cup final but are currently waiting for approval to make it official.

"After further discussions, we changed our original plan to hold the semi-finals and finals at the newly constructed Tarkwa TNA Stadium and Legon Stadium, respectively. However, the TNA stadium was not ready.

"We thought about going to Samarboi, but after some consultations, we decided that going to the Volta would be more helpful, so we went back to our backup plan, which was Sogakope.

"However, the Legon Stadium has been selected to host this year's finals. We would like to choose that location for the competition's semifinal and final rounds going forward, pending exco approval."

The MTN FA Cup goes into semi final with the remaining four teams ready and poised to battle it out against each other for the ultimate prize and also a CAF Confederations Cup spot.

Legon Cities FC will face Nsoatreman FC, whiles reigning champions Dreams FC clash with Bofoakwa Tano FC, in the semi final on May 11 and 12, all at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope.
