Tom Saintfiet has revealed that he has not been contacted by the Ghana Football Association regarding the vacant Black Stars coaching role, despite being linked with the position.
The job became available following the dismissal of Otto Addo after Ghana’s disappointing performances in the March international window, where the team suffered defeats to Austria and Germany.
Saintfiet’s comments add to growing uncertainty surrounding the GFA’s search, with several reported candidates distancing themselves from the role.
Moroccan gaffer Walid Regragui has already ruled himself out, while top-rated Hervé Renard is set to continue with Saudi Arabia ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Similarly, Kwesi Appiah has indicated that he has not been approached by the GFA, leaving the coaching situation increasingly unclear with just months to the Coppa Mundial.
The 53-year-old however, remains one of the most experienced names linked to the role, boasting nearly three decades in coaching with stints across Africa, including Namibia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Malawi, Togo, Gambia and now Mali.
Ghana will open their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 18, before facing England and Croatia in what promises to be a challenging Group L.
