Aduana FC ended their difficult run in the Ghana Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 win against bottom-placed Eleven Wonders at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park in Dormaa Ahenkro on Sunday.
The Ogya Boys came into the match desperate to halt a four-game winless streak and produced a strong second-half display to secure all three points in front of their home supporters.
The opening half proved evenly contested, with both sides struggling to create clear scoring opportunities.
However, Aduana finally found the breakthrough in the 63rd minute when Patrick Mensah reacted quickest inside the penalty area to slot the ball home, giving the hosts a deserved lead after sustained pressure.
Buoyed by the opener, Aduana continued to press forward in search of a second goal to put the game beyond reach.
Their efforts were rewarded ten minutes later when youngster Richard Yeboah produced a moment of brilliance in the 73rd minute, firing a superb strike past the goalkeeper to double the lead and spark celebrations among the home fans.
Aduana managed the remainder of the match professionally, keeping Eleven Wonders at bay to secure a clean sheet and an important victory.
The result ends the Dormaa-based club’s four-match winless run and strengthens their push for a place among the league’s top contenders.
For Eleven Wonders, the defeat prolongs a difficult campaign as they remain rooted to the bottom of the league table.
