Former Asante Kotoko coach target Ignatius Osei-Fosu says he has not been officially approached for the club’s vacant coaching role despite growing speculation.
Osei-Fosu, who is currently the assistant coach of the Sudan national football team, works under head coach Kwesi Appiah - the same man who also serves as Head of Sporting Affairs at Kotoko.
Speaking to Luv FM, the former Dreams FC, Medeama SC and King Faisal F.C. coach said he appreciates being linked with big jobs, but confirmed no one from Kotoko has contacted him.
“In the first place, if your name comes up, it means that you have done a fantastic job. But nobody actually contacted me,” he said.
Osei-Fosu explained that he always considers the timing of any job carefully before making a decision.
“Timing of the job is always of the essence to me. When I’m picking jobs, it’s always the right time. I don’t jump into it. From the start of my career, my people and I have always talked about timing, so there have been different jobs at different times,” he explained.
He also revealed that another club in the Ghana Premier League tried to approach him earlier this season, but he turned down the offer.
“In fact, when I came to Ghana earlier this season, there was a Ghana Premier League club that contacted me. But I told them the time was not right,” he added.
