Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, the administrative manager of Asante Kotoko, has disclosed that the club's patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been covering all expenses since the appointment of the Interim Management Committee (IMC).
Following the dissolution of the previous board of directors and management, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II established the IMC, led by Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, to oversee the affairs of the club.
Dasoberi stated that Otumfuo has been settling all bills, including debts accumulated by previous administrations, since the IMC assumed control.
"Our owner, Otumfuo, has been incredibly supportive. When I discussed the issue of debts with him, he assured us that he would settle every outstanding debt. He promptly resolved debts owed to Seydou Zerbo, Mukwala, and Pouaty's signing-on fees, as well as players' salary advances. He has cleared everything. We have no outstanding salary debts to players," Dasoberi emphasized.
He further elaborated, "Currently, we are facing legal action from SSNIT, and upon hearing about it, Otumfuo instructed us to calculate the debt and settle it. Throughout the IMC's tenure, Otumfuo has been covering all expenses. He has committed to ensuring that players are paid by the 25th or 26th of each month."
Dasoberi also revealed that Otumfuo provides for the players' basic needs, including food, accommodation, and fuel. Additionally, he ensures that the players are well-fed two days before every game.
“Otumfuo pays for food, accommodation for the players, fuel, in fact, everything…two days to a game, he feeds the players two days to every game,” he added.
Asante Kotoko, currently occupying the 8th position on the league table with 32 points, has faced challenges in the second round of the Ghana Premier League but continues to receive steadfast support from Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
