Reigning Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani GoldStars are making a strong case for leading striker Samuel Attah Kumi to earn a maiden invitation to the Ghana national football team ahead of next month’s international friendlies.
GoldStars have maintained their competitive edge this season, currently sitting second on the league table — just one point behind leaders Medeama SC — and Attah Kumi has been central to that push.
The 26-year-old forward has netted 11 goals in 23 league appearances, establishing himself as one of the most consistent attacking threats in the domestic top flight. His ability to deliver both home and away has strengthened calls for national recognition.
Speaking to Citi Sports, the club’s Deputy Communications Director Joseph Oti Manu insisted the striker’s form merits serious consideration, especially with Ghana set to face Austria national football team and Germany national football team in high-profile friendlies as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“I believe Sammy is a very good player. Eleven goals in 23 matches this season is impressive,” Oti Manu said. “Whether home or away, he scores very well. I think the GFA should strongly consider including him in the team travelling to Germany and Austria to assess him ahead of the World Cup.”
