Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) has decided that Prince Yaw Owusu will remain in charge of the club for the remainder of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, with 11 matches left to play, according to Sportsworldghana.
The decision, according to sources within the club, forms part of a comprehensive technical report submitted by the IMC to the newly-elected board. The report outlines the current state of the team and confirms Owusu’s continued role as interim head coach as Kotoko push toward the final stretch of the campaign.
Kotoko currently sit 4th on the league table with 39 points, seven points behind leaders Medeama SC, as the title race intensifies. The Porcupine Warriors will next travel to Tamale to face Karela United in a crucial Matchday 25 fixture, a game that could significantly shape their championship ambitions.
Owusu’s short stint so far has produced mixed results. In three matches at the helm, he has recorded one win, one draw, and one defeat. While the sample size remains small, the IMC appears to believe stability is key as the club navigates the closing stages of the season.
With the technical report now in the hands of the new board, attention turns to how Kotoko will approach the final 11 matches — whether they can close the seven-point gap at the top and mount a serious challenge for the league crown under Owusu’s leadership.
