Abednego Tetteh, the key player for Bibiani Gold Stars, has opened up about his near departure from football when things did not go as planned during his time with Accra Hearts of Oak.

The talented forward faced a difficult period at Hearts, where he was unfairly criticized by the fans before eventually leaving the club.

"I almost quit football because of what I went through during my time with Accra Hearts of Oak," Tetteh revealed in an interview with Original FM.

He continued, "It would be very challenging for me to consider returning to Accra Hearts of Oak."

Abednego Tetteh initially signed a three-year contract with Accra Hearts of Oak after returning from Sudan in early January 2020. However, his contract was mutually terminated after he struggled to make an impact at the club.

Affectionately known as "Zlatan," Tetteh left the club with two medals, having won the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup last season.

Since joining Bibiani Gold Stars three months ago, Tetteh has been in exceptional form. The 32-year-old forward is currently in contention for the Golden Boot award, having scored an impressive 16 goals.
