King Faisal deputy coach, Godwin Ablordey has bemoaned missed opportunities and believes his side could have won their outstanding Premier League game against Asante Kotoko which ended goalless on Wednesday night.

Ablordey also believes his side were denied a clear penalty by referee Robert Musey.

Ablodey cited two instances where he believed his team should have been awarded penalties, including when Benjamin Bature was stopped by Kotoko captain Richard Boadu and when Maxwell Agyemang caught Samuel Kusi's foot inside the Kotoko 18-yard box.

Although Ablodey acknowledges that the referee's decision is final, he believes that Faisal should have been given a clear penalty, which would have changed the outcome of the match.

Despite the missed opportunity, Ablodey recognizes that such situations are not uncommon in football.

"This is the biggest problem in the team, we created all the chances but couldn't bury them but I think we had a penalty but the referee ignored it, it's his decision but I think we had a penalty. It was clear but he was closer to the incident and he didn't whistle for us but it's football, it happens in the game," he stated.

10th-placed King Faisal will now take on Aduana Stars at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Stadium in the quarter-final of the MTN FA Cup on Sunday, April 9.
