Former Ghana international, Yaw Preko has scooped out the pressure and challenges that brings forth handling a Premier League club juxtaposed to coaching a lower division side.
Preko, 48, who ended his romance as head coach of Accra Great Olympics due to the 'Dade' side's performance in the top-flight as they won just six of 17 league matches played under his tutelage this season.
The former assistant coach of the national Under-17 team took over from Coach Annor Walker who guided Olympics to finish fifth last season.
Preko, who is currently the head coach of Shooting Stars FC, a Greater-Accra Division Two League club, stated their that the clubs main focus is on player development and went ahead to admit that he's more relaxed in his current role, citing a lessened demand compared to handling a Premier League side.
“I’m more relaxed now because when it comes to Shooting Stars, the tempo and demand is not the same as coaching a premier league club, but I love it here (Shooting Stars) because I get the opportunity to implement so many things," Preko told ETV Ghana Sports.
"The premier league is more result oriented so you don’t get enough time for the boys to catch so many things.
“But here we are developing the kids, whether we win or lose we still have to be on track in terms of basics and everything. We don’t want to rush them because it is a learning process."
