Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has responded to the situation involving his defender Henry Ansu, who received a red card during their match against Nsoatreman FC on Thursday.

Ogum's team faced even more challenges when they were reduced to 10 men just before half-time. Defender Henry Ansu received his second yellow card and was sent off early, leaving Nsoatreman in control in front of their home fans.

Nsoatreman FC secured a 1-0 victory over the Porcupine Warriors at the Nana Koramansah Park during the 8th week of the Ghana Premier League. Stephen Diyou's goal was sufficient for the home team to claim maximum points on their home turf.

Currently, Nsoatreman tops the league table with a one-point lead over second-placed Aduana FC and a game in hand.

"In football, when an incident occurs, players have the right to complain, and remember, players also play within the laws of the game. The laws are for the players, referees, and everyone involved, including coaches and fans," Ogum stated.

"So if you want to enjoy the game, you have to understand the laws of the game. If something happens during a game and an educated player, who knows the laws of the game, comes to complain without any aggression, and you decide to show him a red card, that's your decision. There is no indiscipline in my team; they are very disciplined players," he added.

The loss leaves Kotoko six points behind the league leaders, having garnered only 10 points from eight games.

Kotoko will face Dreams FC in the 9th week of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
