Nsoatreman FC coach Maxwell Konadu is lending his support and advocating for patience with Asante Kotoko's coach, Dr. Prosper Ogum, as the team faces a string of inconsistent results.
Despite recent struggles, Konadu believes that Ogum is doing a commendable job and deserves the backing of the fans.
Asante Kotoko recently suffered their second defeat, with a 1-0 loss to Nsoatreman, extending their winless streak to three games. The club has only collected 10 points from eight games, a performance below expectations, which has raised concerns among supporters. Nevertheless, Konadu, a former Kotoko coach himself, sees promise in Ogum's approach.
Ogum, who previously secured a Ghana Premier League title during his initial tenure as Kotoko's manager, has faced challenges since his return, with the team's style of play not always aligning with fan expectations.
He has consistently emphasized the transition phase and the need for patience due to the presence of a relatively new squad with limited top-flight experience. Konadu shares these sentiments and advocates for understanding.
"Prosper Ogum is doing a good job; in fact, he is giving his best to the club and needs the support," Konadu stated. "This is a new team; players are competing for places, so sometimes things don't go as expected. You can clearly see that the team needs time to achieve the desired results."
Konadu appealed to the fans for patience, believing that, with time, the team would overcome its struggles and attain success.
"I would urge the fans to be patient, and I believe that, with time, things will improve. Currently, they are facing difficulties, but after just eight games, there is a long way to go, so fans should exercise patience. I think the team will come together and perform well," he added.
Ogum's side will aim to end their winless run this weekend with a home game against Dreams FC.
