After securing a hard-fought victory over Nsoatreman FC in the Ghana Premier League, Hearts of Oak boss Aboubakar Ouattara believes his team could have been more ruthless in front of goal.
The Phobians traveled to Nsoatre for matchday 19 and had to rally from behind to secure all three points.
While Nsoatreman dominated the first half and took a deserved lead into halftime, Hearts of Oak came out strong in the second half, turning the game around with their dominance.
However, despite their improved performance, Ouattara feels his side missed several opportunities to extend their lead during their dominant spell.
"In the second half, I told the boys to change because we saw some mistakes in the defence [which] I tried to correct...and we got the chance to score the two goals," Ouattara commented.
"I told them, we can beat this team 3-1 or 4-1. We had a problem with the pitch...we adapted to the game on the pitch.
"I told them in the dressing room that this match we could win 3-1 but you see we missed a lot of goals and this is another problem - we continue to work and hopefully, things change God willing."
Despite the missed opportunities, Hearts of Oak secured the win, completing the double over Nsoatreman in the last two seasons and extending their unbeaten run to three games in the league.
