Ghanaian forward Asumah Abubakar-Ankrah has left Brisbane Roar following a short but highly promising stint in the Australian A-League.
The 28-year-old joined the Roar earlier this year and quickly made an impact with his energetic performances, pace, and attacking versatility.
Although his spell with Brisbane was brief, having joined the club in February this year, Abubakar impressed both fans and coaching staff, scoring four goals, recording two assists in 11 appearances for the club.
In a statement, Brisbane Roar confirmed the forward’s departure, thanking him for his contribution and wishing him well in the next phase of his career.
“We wish Asumah the best following an unreal back half of the season for us in 24/25,” the club said.
Abubakar, who previously featured in European leagues including Switzerland’s Super League and Netherlands Eerste Divisie, is now reportedly attracting interest from clubs across Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
The former Portugal youth international is believed to be evaluating several offers, with his next move expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
