Ghana’s Kudus Mohammed exhibited a top-tier performance in his first competitive game for Tottenham Hotspur and was very close to becoming the second Ghanaian to win the UEFA Super Cup but painfully lost the title in the end.

The Londoners gave away a two-goal lead to play out a painful 2-2 draw against reigning European champions Paris Saint Germain in regulation time, in what was a very intriguing final at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine, Italy.

After finishing the halftime with a goal advantage courtesy Micky van de Ven, it didn’t take much for Tottenham Hotspur to double their lead having scored in just three minutes from recess through Argentine defender Christian Romero.

However, goals from South Korean international Kang-in Lee and Gonçalo Ramos in the last five minutes got the Parisians back on level terms and went on to win 4-3 via penalty shootout to become the first French side to achieve that

Kudus Mohammed, enjoyed a great preseason and his performance last night indicates he’s gelled and bonded very well at his new club, having created the free kick that lead to their first goal and also came off the woodwork before making way for Mathys Tel in the 79th minute

Speaking after the game, the Black Stars playmaker described the defeat as disappointing looking at how they fought really hard but added they will now quickly move their focus to their opening game of the 2025/26 Premier League season which comes off this weekend against newbies Burnley

“It’s very disappointing to lose the game in the end. This is a big lesson to stay focused the whole ninety minutes but I’m really proud of the team for their work ethic and energy.

“I think we had them in most part of the game but just the last part that we couldn’t keep our concentration so we take it as a lesson and shift our focus to the next game.”

Kudus, 25, is now fully motivated and ready for the new season as he looks give an upgrade of what he did last season
