Ghana striker Jonathan Sowah has strongly denied several allegations made by Simba Sports Club, saying he has done nothing wrong and wants the issue resolved quickly.

The former Medeama SC forward said the claims against him are not true and insists he followed team rules during the incidents mentioned by the club.

Simba accused Sowah of refusing to take part in a training session before their match against Greenland FC on 17 February.

But the deadly goal poacher said that is not correct.

“I completed the activation workout that was required,” Sowah said. “Because I was suspended, I was not allowed to train on the pitch with the team or be part of the match. After I finished the session, the trainer allowed me to leave.”

Sowah also responded to claims that he missed a top-up training session on 22 February. He said there was confusion because the team bus arrived late and he did not have his training kit with him.

“The training was later done at the team hotel with my teammates and the physical trainer,” he explained. “There is video evidence that shows the session happened.”

The Ghanaian admitted he arrived late to training on 16 February, but only by a few minutes. However, Sowah firmly rejected claims that he had been late to team meetings.

Another allegation said Sowah wore a SL Benfica shirt during a trip to Angola instead of the official Simba kit. The forward denied this and said proof can be found online.

Simba also questioned some tackles he made during matches, calling them unusual fouls. But Sowah said they were normal football challenges.

The striker also dismissed rumours that he had received money from rivals Young Africans S.C. and Singida Black Stars.

Despite the dispute, Sowah says he remains committed to Simba Sports Club.

He has asked the club to either lift his suspension or organise a disciplinary hearing as soon as possible.
