Ghanaian midfielder Kwasi Sibo has secured Spanish La Liga promotion with Real Oviedo after a 3-2 aggregate win over CD Mirandes on Saturday evening.
Sibo played an instrumental role in tonight's extra-time win by enjoying the full duration of the match and bossing the midfield of Real Oviedo.
The 26-year-old has been a standout performer for the Blue and White lads in his debut season.
He scored one goal and provided an assist in 34 La Liga 2 games and featured in all four matches of the La Liga promotion playoffs.
Sibo arrived at Real Oviedo on a free transfer ahead of the 2024/25 season's campaign after leaving Spanish lower-tier side SD Amorebieta. His current contract with Oviedo will expire in the summer of 2026.
Since leaving Cheetah FC in 2017, he has played for several clubs in Europe, including Banants FC, where a season before he joined English Championship side Watford FC on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
At Watford, Sibo couldn't make a competitive debut and was loaned out to KF Skënderbeu, UD Ibiza before joining Real Betis in 2021.

Sibo, who is the younger brother of former Liberty Professional and Ghana U23 midfielder, is yet to represent Ghana at any level.
Real Oviedo return to La Liga after 24 years
Former Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla kick-started a dramatic comeback as Real Oviedo won the La Liga 2 play-off final to return to the Spanish top flight after a 24-year absence.
40-year-old Cazorla – who returned to his boyhood club in 2023 – converted a penalty late in the first half of Saturday's second leg with his side 2-0 down on aggregate to CD Mirandes.
Oviedo levelled the tie in the second half through Ilyas Chaira before Francisco Portillo scored a stunning winner in extra time to secure promotion.
Cazorla claimed the decisive goal in the play-off semi-final tie against Almeria, coming off the bench to convert a free-kick and secure a 3-2 aggregate victory.
