Ghanaian midfielder Manu Duah made his Major League Soccer (MLS) debut on Wednesday night, featuring in San Diego FC’s 5–3 win over Vancouver Whitecaps.
The 20-year-old came off the bench to replace Milan IIoski in the 89th minute and impressed with his composure and work rate as San Diego secured a hard-fought away victory at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
“Hello San Diego fans, I finally came onto the field, I made my debut today and we had a great win. It is because of all the team and the hard work I put in and I want to say I am happy. Thank you all,” Duah said after the match.
Duah, who joined the MLS expansion side after coming up as the first overall pick at the MLS draft in 2025, has been training with the senior squad and was finally handed his first appearance in front of a super charged intimidating away crowd.
Duah is seen as a promising midfield prospect with the potential to break into Ghana’s U-23 setup and possibly the Black Stars if he continues to impress in MLS with the Western Conference leaders.
