Real Oviedo midfielder Kwasi Sibo has expressed his desire to earn a call-up to the Ghana national team, insisting that he now possesses the experience and maturity required to represent the Black Stars at senior level.

The 27-year-old, who recently helped Real Oviedo to secure promotion to the Spanish La Liga from the Segunda División, believes his development over the past few seasons has prepared him for the challenge of international football.

Sibo joined Real Oviedo in July 2024 on a two-year contract and quickly established himself as a key figure, making 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and providing an assist.

“I’m mature enough to play for the Black Stars. I believe this is the time. I’ just doing my best and waiting for them. I’m always ready to represent Ghana,” Sibo told Asempa FM.

Sibo faces strong competition in a crowded Black Stars midfield that includes the likes of Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, and Majeed Ashimeru, but remains confident that his work rate and experience in Europe can offer something different to the team.

“I love to work hard and that gives me enough stamina to do my job. Midfielders control the game. To play in the midfield, you have to understand the game, have stamina and patience. Playing all this while in Spain, I think I have learnt a lot and am ready to play for the national team.”

Sibo has been a regular lynchpin in midfield for Real Oviedo, showcasing versatility, composure on the ball, and strong defensive attributes. His performances in Spain have earned him plaudits from fans and analysts alike, with many calling for him to be considered by the Black Stars team selectors.
