It is going to be an interesting month of January with the transfer window open. A lot of clubs will get into action and make their moves in the winter transfer window. It is a great opportunity for teams to reinforce their squads, address problem areas, sign temporarily to cover for injured players and more
The January transfer window is also a boon for the players who are struggling in their current surroundings. A lot of loan moves take place in the winter transfer window which gets struggling players game time and a change of environment.
On that note, here is a list of 5 Hearts players players that should look for a loan move away to save their careers.
Enoch Asubonteng
Nobody understands why Asubonteng has failed to get any playing time considering his enormous potentials. The former WAFA man looks pretty rusty and he looks as though he’s still trying to gain match fitness. His attacking forays has been average and he looks a shadow of the player he was before joining the Accra club.
A loan spell would do him a world of good. Asubonteng still has a lot of potential but he needs to be starting every match and not just be a reserve player.
Yaw Amankwah Baafi
Yaw Amankwah Baafi has been touted as the next big thing to happen to Hearts. He can hold the ball up well and he can also make long driving runs with the ball through the midfield and into attack. If he develops his shooting, his tackling and passing ability then he could become the next Stephen Appiah for the Phobians.
The problem is however, that nobody seems to know his best position. At Madina Republicans, he played as a winger but at Hearts and under Samuel Boadu, he realised immediately that Baafi wasn’t a winger but would make a great attacking midfielder/ forward. The situation is no different under Slavko Matic.
Baafi needs to find out what position he’s best at. If he wants to be a midfielder then he will need to do a lot more running off the ball to suit Matic’s style.
Rashid Okine
Okine has been a regular fixture for Hearts lately. This is largely due to the absence of Dennis Korsah. Korsah is currently in Algeria on international assignment with the Black Galaxies. The youngster has struggled to win over the hearts of the Hearts faithful with his inconsistent performances.
Matic has reportedly been very impressed with what he’s seen of Okine. However, with the prospect of regular first-team football unlikely between now and the end of the season, it could be in Okine’s benefit to go out on loan.
Richard Attah
The former number one has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Phobians this campaign
The 27-year-old is currently number four in the pecking order at Hearts, with Richmond Ayi, Eric Ofori Antwi and Benjamin Nana Yeboah ahead of him.
A temporary move could be the best solution for Attah right now, especially in mind of a potential involvement for the Black Stars in the not-too-distant future.
Zakari Yakubu
A centre-back tipped for the top, but he has barely impacted at all at Hearts. There’s no real way to say whether Yakubu could be of the standard required right now because he has yet to show what he can do.
A temporary move away would be ideal, but he has a lot of work to do to impress enough to feature going forward.
