Andre Ayew will captain the Black Stars at the World Cup for the first time and has disclosed he is poised and ready for the challenge though it won't be an easy one.

 

The 32 year old is the most experience figure in this current squad and will be making his third World Cup appearance in Qatar after South Africa- 2010 and Brazil- 2014.

His full time action against Switzerland last Thursday marked his 110th game for the senior national team, making him the country's most capped player surpassing Asamoah Gyan finally.
 
The former Marseille and Swansea City forward is ready to captain at the Mundial for the first time and has pledged to also help the young guys adjust really well in the team. He told FIFA;
 
"I’ve grown up and played alongside different generations, over two World Cups. I’ve learned a lot from them, and I still feel fit and strong enough to play at this level. I had the honour of leading my country to qualification. It was a great experience, but the focus now has to be on helping the youngsters and convincing them that we can progress, for ourselves as a team as well as for the country. I enjoy every moment."
 
Ghana is placed in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and two time world champions Uruguay.
 
They left Abu Dhabi for Qatar earlier today and will face the 2016 European champions on Thursday, November 24, at the Stadium 947.
