The senior men national team of Ghana, Black Stars, will be featuring in a four-nation tournament in England in the summer to warm themselves up for September's international window
The Black Stars despite missing out on the 2025 AFCON, have given a very good account of themselves in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and are currently on top of Group I with a five-point lead after six matches.
Ghana destroyed Chad by an emphatic 5-0 last Friday in Accra in round 5, before subsequently humbling secocd-place Madagascar by 3-0 last night in Al Hoceima, Morocco, to brighten their qualification chances.
Speaking after the game, Randy Abbey, who is the Black Stars Management Committee Chairman, has confirmed the team has been invited to play in a four-nation tournament and he believes that will be a perfect avenue to test their strength since there will be no official games in June.
“Fortunately the technical team and the management will have opportunity of further working on the team. Because in June, we don’t have qualifiers and so we will be playing in a four nation friendly in England. I’m sure that it will be an opportunity for the coaches to do some further work on the team. We are hoping that some of the players who are injured will also be back and will also be able to get an oppotunity to play some two games before the September internationals.”
Ghana's next game in the World Cup qualifiers is a visit to Chad in match-day 7 on September 1, 2025.
