Deputy General Secretary of the GFA, Alex Asante has vehemently stated categorically clear that, rumours of having so many player-divisions in the Black Stars are all untrue and has urged everyone to disregard that trend
These speculations has been there for years dating back to 1992 where there were reports of some split in the national camp between the senior players and is the reason we couldn't win the AFCON where we lost in a marathon of penalty shootouts to West African neighbours Cote D'Ivoire.
Just recently, the speculations was moved straight to Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew- who many believed weren't in good terms during their days together in the senior national team, with the former retiring prematurely from the Black Stars after getting enraved by the decision to strip off his captaincy to hand over to the latter prior to the 2019 AFCON.
Despite all these, many believe such disunity still exist in the Black Stars and that's why the Ghana deputy Secretary has once again disregarded those claims in the public eye as he explained some of the players have been best friends so are always together but that has nothing to do with division.
"Some players want to always be moving along with other players because of their closeness but I can say there are no divisions among the players in camp."
"Sometimes the media report that there is a division between Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew but they are always cool in camp and for me, there is no division."
The Black Stars just recently two months ago, grinded four points from a double header against the Black Antelopes of Angola and are still leading Group E with 8 points in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
They will regroup very soon to take on Madagascar and Central African Republic next month to wrap up the qualifiers.
