Public Relations Officer (PRO) Of Karela United, Sey Mubarak has dismissed claims that the club owes its players nine months but rather three months salaries in arrears.
In an interview with Asempa FM, Mubarak clarified that the news of The Pride and Passion owing their players nine months salary is untrue.
“The story making waves in the media is coming from players the club has decided to move on from and did not register," Mubarak told Asempa FM, as monitored by footballghana.com.
"Quotes about the club owing players for about 5 to 9 months are not true. From the start of the season until June, no player is owed salary.
"What the club owes is from the end of the season until now, which is for about three months. That is what I know, and that is what is really confirmed: we owe the players, and some bonuses are included."
Karela was sold to astute politician and former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu last season and has now been moved to Tamale.
The Pride and Passion will kick-start their Ghana Premier League season this Sunday, welcoming Asante Kotoko to the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex in Nalerigu.
