The Timber Giants boss wants to secure African football next season and says he won't let his lads take their foot off the gas in the Ghana Premier League.
Nurudeen Amadu has stated that he can't promise the clubs fans of winning the league title but doesn't want his players to relax as he regards top four finish and securing a CAF Champions League qualification as an important target.
Speaking after their 2-1 win over Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Monday in Dormaa, Amadu said he believes that there's a lot to play for in the league and it will be too early to talk about winning the Premier League title.
"It's too early, and we're taking it match by match. There are a lot of matches to play, and as a young club, we've had about 3 to 4 players injured at the start of the second round, making it difficult to predict," he told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
"We want to improve our performance, so winning the league isn't our top priority, but rather finishing in the top four. It will not be easy, but we are there to compete with them, so we will do our best and see where we get.
"I can't promise the fans that we will win the league, but as I previously stated, I am only doing my job. The fans may have high expectations, but even though we are ambitious, I cannot guarantee them the league title," he added.
FC Samartex will welcome Nations FC to the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in the match-week 19 fixture on Sunday, March 3.
