Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has commended the Ghana Premier League for its notable improvement compared to two seasons ago when Medeama SC claimed the title.
Addo’s remarks came after attending the match-week two clash between Legon Cities and Medeama, where the defending champions secured a narrow 1-0 victory at the Legon Stadium.
In a post-match press briefing, Addo expressed optimism about the current season, observing a positive shift in the league’s overall quality.
“This is my first season closely observing the league. At the end of the last season, I watched some videos; it was decent overall,” Addo commented. “But I think it’s picking up now, becoming more interesting. It’s still early in the season, so let’s see how things develop.”
Addo also highlighted that compared to two years ago, the league’s performance levels have risen. “When I compare it to two years ago, the improvement is clear. The players and teams are showing better quality,” he added.
He further shared his intention to attend more Premier League games throughout the season, with the goal of scouting home-based players for potential Black Stars call-ups.
