Asamoah Gyan, a Ghanaian football legend and the country's all-time leading goal scorer, has called for patience and support for the newly assembled technical team and the Black Stars.
The team, led by new head coach Chris Hughton and assisted by George Boateng and Didi Dramani, secured their first win against Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium with a goal from Antoine Semenyo in the 96th minute.
Despite the team's slow movement and unfavorable weather conditions, Gyan emphasized the importance of securing the three points and called for fans to be patient with the team's gradual process of building and development.
"The players were under immense pressure, the weather condition was not unfavourable for them so you could see they were struggling, their movement was a bit slow but the most important thing is getting the victory," he told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
"It's a gradual process, we have a new coach who is building a team, for me, I think securing the three points was the most important thing although we didn't have the best of games in football, a win is the most important thing.
"Let's support and be patient with the team," he added.
Ghana currently sits at the top of Group E with 7 points and will play Angola in the matchday four games seeking to end the country's 4-year Afcon trophy drought.
