Former Black Stars goalkeeper, Fatawu Dauda has applauded the Ghana FA for handing the vacant Black Stars coaching role to Chris Hughton and strongly believes he will flourish with supports from Ghanaians
Ghana's senior men national team have been without a substantive head coach after the World Cup following the resignation of Otto Addo.
The GFA couple of days ago announced veteran coach Chris Hughton as the new Black Stars head coach and is set to lead the team in the upcoming 2023 AFCON qualifiers scheduled for next month.
In an interview, the ex- AshantiGold SC and Enyimba FC goalie, has backed the appointment of the former Newcastle United and Brighton manager, and has urged Ghanaians to usher him their support.
"The FA has done well giving the job to Chris. He is a nice man. I don’t know him but I have watched him from afar, what he did in the EPL and other teams. I think we should support him and then all of us will achieve and we will get what we want for the country."
Fatawu Dauda was Ghana's first choice shot-stopper at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
