Former Hearts of Oak captain, Fatawu Mohammed has strong words at the club following his exit after nine years.
The year old joined the 'Phobians' in 2013 from Red Bull Academy and really contributed immensely to the success of the in recent times.
The experience lateral captained the team to five trophies in two years; two FA Cups, Super Cup and the GPL- which had eluded the club for over a decade. He was also handed a Black Stars call up and started against South Africa in Johannesburg in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
He was told by the club last week to find a new club since his contract can't be renewed anymore.
Speaking to Sports Obama TV, Fatawu Mohammed stated his salary at Hearts of Oak wasn't anything huge and couldn't even afford a bicycle kick. He said;
"I didn't get even a bicycle from Hearts of Oak. I bought my car with Black Stars qualification bonus. The only thing I earned from Hearts was the call up I had to the Black Stars but I couldn't buy anything with my salary at Hearts of Oak."
"It was a hand to mouth salary."
